DINING ROOM
This basic dining room needed some statement pieces to create the WOW factor and add visual interest in a room without much architectural detail. I started with the oversized grid antique mirror, this was the inspiration and basis for the rest of the design. Next we added a dramatic oversized bronze and crystal orb chandelier, which reflected beautifully in the mirror and created gorgeous "light play" in the evening. Talk about drama! These were the statement pieces. The french doors were covered with a gauze like fabric, creating soft, natural light and allowing one to view the intimate garden beyond. Note the table and chairs and properly scaled and the color is quiet as not to compete with the show stopping larger pieces. Do you love this look? I can tailor a custom look just for you.
TABLESCAPES AND ACCESSORIES
Properly designed tablescapes and accessories are the finishing touches and the exciting last layer to the design process. The items must be properly scaled and placed to create a pleasing overall look. As we say, "The devil is in the details."
This is where I can lose my mind with excitement as I artfully pull the entire vignette together, creating the mood, ambience and harmonious balance, carefully designed for each unique client.
SHELF MERCHANDISING
Do you ever walk into a retail store and notice the perfectly placed accessories to create a stunning visual display, and then fail at trying to re-create this at home? "Merchandising" is the term designers use to describe the detailed process of creating visual interest on shelves, in dining hutches, and horizontal spaces. I will first discuss your needs for the spaces, many times "edit" your existing pieces, and if necessary bring in a few more accessories to complete the look. You would be amazed how using what you have, when arranged properly creates a whole new look!
FAMILY ROOM
This family room is pleasing to the eye as it has symmetry and balance. Note the opposing sofas with the clear glass coffee table to lighten the composition. Good design always has a focal point in the room. The large scale display hutch creates a beautiful focal point, while providing function and a comfortable place for the eye to rest. The dimensions were perfect as the height of the hutch almost touches the ceiling, and the width fits perfectly between the two windows. Keeping the colors in this room quiet with neutrals helps to create the peaceful yet important feel of the room.
